Dear Reader;

I have no way of knowing if this is your first stop seeking reviews of Viking kitchen products, or if you have come across this review among many more. Either way you should be advised that Viking has changed the model number of this unit slightly on at leasttwo occasions effectively hiding the numerous bad reviews it receives. Still, in the end that won't help the poor performance, unreliability, or the customer service.

Try a search for reviews of Viking VCBB363L around the the internet and you will probably find all sorts of references to problems both with the refrigerator and also with Viking customer service.

But don't stop there. Presumably if you are interested in the Viking refrigeratoryou are also interested in a Viking range, after all most people buy them as a matched setup. So be sure look for reviews on the ranges as well. They fair no better than the fridge.

To read my personal experience click on the link in the header of this review near my name to "see all my reviews;" and then look through them for 2 separate reviews of this fridge plus another one re: my Viking range. You will also notice there how Viking has erased all references in the title section of the fridge on those old reviews in order to make it harder for people like you to find the plethora of reviews out there like mine by using common search engines.

The remarkably poor attitude of Viking toward customer service cripples these appliances more than anything... far eclipsing even the very dissapointing performance. The idea that you can count on being on a first-name-basis with your local Viking repair tech soon after spending a small fortune for kitchen appliances speaks volumes in-and-of itself.The quick summary: Save yourself frustration, money, trouble, and food. Pick another brand of appliances.

U-Line : 1115RB-00 15in Compact Refrigerator Review

We bought this model for use in our game room bar in July 2008.Upon delivery the temperature controller failed to work properly and the unit never cooled.The controller went completely blank in just a couple of days.The retailer refused to provide us with a new unit and sent a service technician to our house.The technician found that the wiring harness to the cooling fan had either come loose or been installed incorrectly.After connecting the wiring harness the unit began to cool but we found the digital controller still wasn't working properly.The technician asked us to use it for a couple of days to see if it worked itself out.Several days later, unable to change the temperature at all, we again called the appliance retailer and demanded a new unit.They again refused, sending the technician out again.He said he thought the entire computer was fried and needed to take the unit to his shop for service.We were without the refrigerator for three weeks while all of the electronics were replaced.When it was returned it seemed to work fine.Now, almost one year to the day after it was repaired, the temperature controller has again failed and the digital readout is blank.I expected more from a $1,000 bar refrigerator from U-Line.I would not recommend this unit based on my experience with it.Check out the Marvel or Scotsman refrigerators for roughly the same price.

KitchenAid : KUWO24LSBX Refrigerator Review

I assumed then I bought this that it would function as advertised, it doesn't. Manufacturer advertises 10 degrees difference between the white and red zones, the temperature gauges never register more than 2-3 Degrees difference. Technician was... dispatched, did a manual read of the top and bottom temps and the difference was only 4 degrees, kitchenaid indicated that this was acceptable....Bull$8%t, I paid good money for a product that should work as advertised and it doesnt! Our favorite aspects:
--Fits into very tight spaces in your cabinetry.(but this also means you will find it cramped--esp. the freezer--if you are looking for and able to house a more standard size unit).
--VERY quiet when running
--Brushed stainless surface is surprisingly resistant to fingerprinting and provides very easy, smear-free cleaning w/simple, inexpensive glass cleaners
--Excellent energy efficiency
--Attractive design (but do note:the sides are NOT stainless-- you can order "monochrome" finish which provides a dark grey orange-peel surface which matches the bottom panel and looks more consistent w/stainless than black; if you don't specify 'monochrome' you will get black sides, bottom and icemaker trim)
--Keeps veggies fresh and crisp far, far longer than my Frigidaire or Whirlpool ever did--weeks of useable crisp freshness
--Clear bins really help remind you of what you have
--We can put the glass shelves in our dishwasher for easy cleaning
--Love the SBS design since stooping and digging around in a bottom-freezer got old for me fast and I vowed never again.
--Water filter works very well and the filter age/status tracker on the front panel is very helpful.
--Theater lighting great for avoiding spills when filling ice or water

Have had for several months and we are so far nothing but pleased. Good value for the money.

My husband and I purchased this refrigerator less than two years ago to replace a GE of almost 26 years - still running.Now the new Amana is not cooling and we have a service call slated for Tuesday.It took 45 minutes just to schedule an appointment and it will be 72 hours before anyone can take a look at this appliance.We are very disappointed in this turn of events.We researched and bought what we thought was a top brand from Sear's.To add insult to injury I am reading really bad reviews on practically every refrigerator.I would encourage anyone to think long and hard about purchasing any Amana product.Until it stopped working we were very happy with our purchase - we just don't intend to own an appliance that we have to keep repairing.Especially one this new.
