This thermometer seems well designed and constructed. It has what seems to be a silicone covered foot that sits on the shelf where you put it. I bought it as paired with the similar oven thermometer, and the readings in our side-by-side checked out at exactly 40 degrees in the frig and 8 degrees in the freezer, so we'll want to adjust the freezer down a tad.All in all, it's very easy to read, and is a good way to assure maximum food safety and minmimum energy wastage. I think it's quite accurate and fits in the hand very well. It's heavy enough not to tip over easily. If you're like us and have multiple refrigerators, it's easily moved from one to another.
