LG : LK45C CustomCube Automatic Ice Maker Review

The ice maker is very nice. It works and works very well. The included instructions didn't seem to match what my fridge had, but it was close enough that I was able to improvise.

The only gripe is that the sound it makes when the water runs to fill is very loud and drives my wife nuts. We're used to the sound of the dropping cubes, but we've never heard another one make this much racket when filling up. It's not a big deal though, once the tray is full, it doesn't fill anymore until it needs to make more cubes.

Electrolux - Frigidaire Replacement Icemaker Review

Using the correct model, serial numbers from the Refrigerator and the part number on the factory ice maker this is the unit that was suppose to replace it.Not even close - Wrong side for water inlet, Mounting bracket will not mount correctly.I even tried to change out the motor, timer and switches and use the existing housing and etc.The only thing that would change out is the two switches.Not satisfied.

Kenmore Ice Maker Icemaker W10122502 & 2198597 Review

I did not receive a mounting bracket, screws or instructions.Luckily, the screws and mounting bracket from my old unit fit flawlessly on the new one and it only took a little fiddling around to figure out how to remove/replace it.The unit is making ice, and I have no complaints there.So I guess the moral of the story is don't bother to pay extra for an exact fit - all of these units seem to be widely used with a variety of mounting hardware.

I purchased a SS GE Profile refrig/freezer in 2002.The refrig was super quiet, except when the IM-4 icemaker cycled.The IM-4 could be heard from the next room.After having a new floor installed, the contractors must have damaged something in the rear of the icemaker (pump).I replaced with the new IM-6.After checking my connections and looking for puddles, I had to continue to look inside the freezer to see if it was working.The IM-6 is so quiet, I could not hear the cycling.The only sound that was heard was the ice dropping into the empty bucket.Finally a quiet ice maker for my quiet refrigerator!Good job GE.

Taylor 507 Connoissuer Line Freezer- Refrigerator Thermometer Review

This thermometer seems well designed and constructed. It has what seems to be a silicone covered foot that sits on the shelf where you put it. I bought it as paired with the similar oven thermometer, and the readings in our side-by-side checked out at exactly 40 degrees in the frig and 8 degrees in the freezer, so we'll want to adjust the freezer down a tad.

All in all, it's very easy to read, and is a good way to assure maximum food safety and minmimum energy wastage. I think it's quite accurate and fits in the hand very well. It's heavy enough not to tip over easily. If you're like us and have multiple refrigerators, it's easily moved from one to another.
