I don't think I can review this particular item as the store I made the purchase from does not carry this item and instead, they sent me a different one with the excuse they are all manufactured by the same company. (I was really pissed off because I wanted a GE filter.)
Instead of reviewing the product, I will warn all to all Amazon community to make sure you get what you are paying for.

GE : GTS18FBSWW Refrigerator Review

Very loud fan noise.The fan on this refrig. is about as loud as a bathroom exhaust fan. I've never heard a new refrig with such a loud fan. The draws don't slide real smoothly.
On the positive side, the shelves are good, lots of room inside for tall containers, and the price is good for basic (but noisy) refrigerator.

GE/Kenmore SmartWater Filter Adapter (GWFADAPTER) Review

Consumers BEWARE! The GE Smartwater GWF filter is not a replacement for the old 'Culligan' FXRC metal filter. Despite the available adapter, the new Smartwater GWF filter was designed for a newer 'high-pressure' system installed in GE refrigerators manufactured after 2001. On the older models using normal water pressure [mine is a GE Performance Profile] these filters do not work. They will seem fine at first, only to run to a trickle in less than a month. I burned through several of these at @ $40.00 each until I discovered the problem.

With millions of wasted filters and dollars at stake, GE refuses to acknowledge the problem.I was told to find a technician at my expense. GE refused to replace the filters with a properly designed compatible model.

This is a filter is a fake! While the description claims it fits my model refrigerator it does not. The threads are completely different so it will not even screw in.

GE SmartWater MWF Refrigerator Water Filter, 1-Pack Review

Shipped immediately, took it out of the box, ignored all the instructions and warnings as men do, unscrewed the other one, put this one in, filled up 2 big glasses of water to "flush it" and that was it.

Maybe 5mins worth of effort?

Not sure what else to say in a review of this item, worked great in our GE fridge.
