Their reputation is holding...actually getting worse in my opinion...
Their customer service was always poor, but I just didn't realize how poor....and I'm not even going to elaborate on the dropped calls, the false promises of return calls, and the unwillingness to resolve the situation, I'll just report on the poor quality of the product...
Bought the LG LSC27910TT in July of 2008.Within 2 mo. the refrigerator was holding 62F on the coldest setting and the freezer was at -20F at the warmest setting.Basically, there was a damper that wasn't sending cold air to the fridge and it was sending the humid air into the freezer, so frost was collecting very quickly in the freezer.It took 4wks to get a newLSC27910TT from LG.They sent me a new one due to the part being backordered....which means what???Yes....this is a common issues with this model.....very common.So...it will take a minimum of 4wks for you to get a replacement fridge if you have this issue.
Now....onto the new one.They sent a new one, not refurbed, but new.And yes....this one is now broken.The ice cube flap on the door (which works via a motor) will not open when ice falls to the door....so it's jammed every time. Sent for replacement parts....turned out not repairable.Meanwhile, talking to LG is like talking to my 8wk old....I actually get more of a response from him.I wanted a new model.No dice!!!They wanted to charge me 1/2 the difference.A good try, but I'm not throwing any more of my money LG's way.
I still don't have the 3rd fridge, but I sure hope it works!

This is a very good replacement filter. The price is much lower than the OEM one for the same performance.
Consumers BEWARE! The GE Smartwater GWF filter is not a replacement for the old 'Culligan' FXRC metal filter. Despite the available adapter, the new Smartwater GWF filter was designed for a newer 'high-pressure' system installed in GE refrigerators manufactured after 2001. On the older models using normal water pressure [mine is a GE Performance Profile] these filters do not work. They will seem fine at first, only to run to a trickle in less than a month. I burned through several of these at @ $40.00 each until I discovered the problem.
My husband and I purchased this LG LSC27910 refrigerator from Sears in October (2009) so it is very new. About 2 months ago we saw it had problems intermittently with the ice and water dispenser where if you depressed the button, it would stick! Now it sticks every time. For the first few months, however, we saw no problems. It seems to be something that happens after a few months of use. I cannot tell you how many times we have flooded our floor with water. Sometimes it would not correct itself even after continuously trying to get it to shut the water or ice off!!! It has been a nightmare. We have been having Sears out to fix the problem, unsuccessfully I might add- they are out today for their 5th visit to fix it.
I purchased the LG refrigerator replacement filter and the product review was for the 5231ja2006b but they shipped the A model.It would have been cheaper to buy the A model elsewhere. Don't believe they product description from this company. Product Description

The filter looks fine but I could not install it myself since I have a different model installed now.I need a plumber to install it. The filter is supposed to last one year and this compelled me to buy it.
This is a great filter for my older Frigidaire model refrigerator. It is easy to replace and the water tastes great. You will find it more expensive at other sites especially when you have to add in shipping for other sites.
If you own a Samsung Fridge and are purchasing this product, you already know how your filtered water and ice taste.
I have an Amana fridge with a water filter.It was time for a new pack of filters.I put the model number of my old filters in the search engine and I was referred to the Maytag filters and of course a new model number.I hesitated but thought I can always return them if it's not correct.The new filters fit and work great!.It was an easy purchase.Thanks!It is suggested you change your water filters every 3 months.With just two people in the household we change ours every 6-7 months.
