Koolatron(tm) Vending fridge-Silver Review

I bought this about a year ago, it was very, very discounted. (How about $10. seriously!)
The unit has the ability to vend two different 12oz can products. It holds four cans for each product. It works almost like a real vending machine. The coin slot really works, it has a refrigeration unit, and it does dispense product.
It worked fine for eleven months. Unfortunately, the power board went bad. This makes the whole unit inoperable.
I contacted Koolatron, they offered to send a replacement board for $50.
Oh well, for $10 it was fun while it lasted.

Acrylic magnetic frames are perfect for events sold in 3's Review

After getting tired of the 4" x 6" prints I put up on my fridge curling at the edges, I looked for a magnetized acrylic frame that I could insert theprint into and place on the fridge.I loved these when I received them and thought they were the answer to my problem.However, after only switching out pictures twice, I found that the horizontal pictures were sliding out from the bottom of the frame.It's fine if you have a vertical picture because the one enclosed side can be at the bottom.They need to develop one of these so that there is a vertical AND horizontal side that is enclosed.Then they'd be perfect!

Magnetic Hooks (Brushed Stainless Steel) (1.75" Diameter) Review

I bought these hooks to hold up our wet dishcloths in the sink.The small magnets they come with can barely support the weight of the hook, much less anything else.Even though they're inexpensive, they're not worth the money.I'm going to have to buy magnets to glue to the back to see if I can get them to work.

64 Neodymium Magnets 1/4 inch Cube N48 Review

These are everything they are cracked up to be.Understand magnetics though, while in the cube form, you have 64 combined cris crossing fields so the cube is not that strong.Each individual one is amazing though.This type of magnet is every bit as strong as I remember.Expect to have to slide them off some surfaces if your fingertips are as knobby as mine!You wont be sorry.Just make sure the size fits your application.Btw these 1/4" cubes hold a decent sized pair of vice grips securely or a standard weight claw hammer a little precariously.

Nostalgia RVM-560 Retro-Style 18-Can Vending Machine Review

This is a resurrection of the 'Ice 3' vending machine a few years ago.That machine lasted about a year before I had to replace the small internal fan.I decided to buy this one because it's a fun little machine that the kids enjoy getting their drinks without them opening the refrigerator door all the time.And, it looks cool. I'm hoping this one will last longer than the 'Ice 3' since the mechanics look identical.

I also have a Koolatron Vending fridge at my office.The Koolatron keeps the drinks colder but it only holds 10 cans, two in a holding area that you can only get to if you open the machine.I'm always running out of drinks and it seems i'm always opening up the door.

I like the Koolatron as far as it keeps the drinks colder but I like the Nostalgia because you can load 18 cans at once.

PROS: Looks, Holds 18-cans
CONS: Cans could be colder.

Summit : FF1325SS 10.4 cu. ft. Counter-Depth Top-Freezer Refrigerator - Stainless Steel Doors Review

I purchased this fridge because I had a tiny kitchen.On a cu ft basis it is one of the most expensive fridges you can buy.I have redone 3 kitchens in the past 5 years, and have spent about $30,000 on appliances.I have never seen such poor quality.The MAIN problem is that the refrigerator slopes--the bottom is 2" further away from the wall than the top even after I adjust the legs as far into the cavity as possible--it looks like a s___ show.I called Mark Goldman (Summit customer service) to help solving the problem. First he claimed this was how the fridge was designed--the door should close slowly.I said it doesn't--it SLAMS shut.Then clearly demonstrating the design story was invalid, Mark told me I could build up my floor with shims!I said that was ridiculous for $1000 fridge (it's $300 extra for the icemaker).He said I needed proof there was a problem, so I sent an email with a photo of the slanted fridge and a photo of a 36" level on the floor to show it was level (i tried to paste photos here, but can't).Under pressure from the retailer, Summit sent a service rep.The service rep agreed the floor was level and the legs were into the cavity, so there was nothing he could do to fix the problem--that there was clearly a manufacturing or design flaw.When Summit received this information, they said since it wasn't a MANUFACTURING flaw (it was the design flaw--so ALL fridges will have the same problem), they weren't required to do anything about it.So I'm living with the problem.
As an aside, the rest of the quality is no better.the produce drawer is plastic and doesn't slide on the guides well, so soon it will break no matter how careful I am.

Soleus Air MC-88M Indoor/Outdoor Party Refrigerator, Silver Review

This is a unique product in it's price range. We wanted a deck fridge ready for outdoor use and this appeared to be just that. As always, Amazon service was fantastic but after 3 months of service, the device began to run noisily and quit working altogether shortly after that. We were startled to examine the warranty service offered by Soleus Air and learned that in order to have warranty coverage we'd need to ship this device back to California which cost us $147. This is half the cost of the device and was a big disappointment. I suspect the value in this device will be fully realized if the company returns a unit that lasts more than a few months. If this unit fails again, it will be out of warranty (for what that is worth given the return shipping costs) and we'll likely have a fancy stainless steel ice bucket instead of a powered cooler. The physical appearance and functional design is attractive and the unit was the talk of our summer gatherings just beware of quality and the finer points of the warranty and hope your's lasts longer than ours did.

Oster 4.5 Cu. Ft. Compact Refrigerator - Black Review

For our second office location we needed a small fridge for drinks and snacks but what I figured would an easy purchase became anything but. I tried models by Sanyo, Haier and even Sunpentown/SPT before finally purchasing this Oster. The problem that so many of these smaller fridges are toys--they don't get decently cold, or don't hold a stable temperature or are so cheaply made that they don't seal properly when shut. They aren't normally made like full sized fridges with heavy doors that automatically close, their doors would rather stay cracked open so you think they are closed when they aren't. They like to shake, vibrate and just generally make a lot of noise. Every appliance company and salesman I talked with said that is what you should expect unless you spent over a thousand for a built-in style mini-fridge but I am stubborn and refused to give up.

Enter the Oster--it is quiet (it still is a fridge so it isn't silent), feels much more solid and better made, has a door that closes properly with a little help and gets nice and cold (and keeps it over time). Now I no longer have to wonder if my refrigerated items are actually still ok or not. Our drinks are always refreshing now and the office mates are happy. And I am happy because after all the hassle I found a keeper and got to keep a lot of money as well!

Let me just say that this little frige is well worth the money. I purchased mine at an appliance store and the sales person tried to talk me out of it. He said it probably wouldn't get things very cold.We did not find a lot of feedback from customers on-line, but I decided to trust my luck.I am glad that I did.Even on the medium setting my pop and water are kept very cold.The frige is very quiet.I wish it was a little smaller, but it is very light weight and since there is no compressor the inside space is maximized and it fits a lot of stuff.

I purchased an Igloo refrigerator and within a few weeks it completely stopped working. Curtis International (Igloo's parent company) has terrible customer service and will not honor customer warranties. After a year of trying to ge this resolved, I have found out that they have an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau and have many of these types of complaints. Danby DCR412BLS 4.3-Cu.Ft. Compact Refrigerator with Freezer Review

I bought this recently for 150 at the dept store with the 'bullseye' logo.I have the stainless steel grey and black version.So far i'm happy with it as it does get cold enough to make ice in its mini-freezer compartment, and that was when i turned the temp control to the 2/3 setting(not even the max setting!).So make no mistake, it does get cold enough to make ice.If you're looking for a mini-fridge, temporary fridge, second fridge, single-person fridge, then this seems like a great value.I've only had it for a few weeks now, so i'll update my review if anything 'majorly bad' happens in the future(trust me, i'll be upset enough to come back and write a poor follow up if this fridge starts to breakdown in any way).

Finally, the energy guide.The energy guide included with the fridge says it uses 343 of 345 kwh, and that its yearly operating costs is $28.That 343/345 is very high, but it says it is measured against other comparable fridges up to 4.4 cubic feet.This is a 4.3 cubic ft mini-fridge, so obviously it would be near the max. Other 4.3/4.4 mini-fridges use about the same amount of energy.And the Danby actually used about the same amount as a 3.3 cubic ft Avanti mini-fridge i was looking at.I don't have a bias towards one brand or the other(this ain't Ford vs Chevy, PS3 vs XBOX 360), simply just letting you know what the energy guide stats are.So compare and shop around before making a decision if this one is right for you.I have it, and think it's a good purchase(one of the biggest mini-fridges with a mini-freezer compartment!) and a good value(one of the cheapest prices for a mini-fridge).

(edit: almost 2 yrs later, still works fine.although i have to defrost a little more than i'd like to.also, you can't fit a large pizza box in this thing.just saying)

We've had it for over a month or so in my department. It's the envy of the building.
Okay loading the drinks thing is a little weak, as if you're a moron and don't pay attention, the cans kind of fall into position. I've only done that once or twice...

As a bonus, I actually want to keep food in this thing, I've never eaten so healthy and cheaply.

This filter is rated at 750 gallons capacity. If the consumer uses one gallon of water per day in the form of water from the refrigerator dispenser and ice from the ice dispenser, the filter will last 750 days; i.e., just over TWO years. In general, there is no reason to replace the filter yearly, unless you have a really yuccky water source.

In a small household of two adults, the filter should last considerably longer than two years. Furthermore, with the addition of a filtered water dispenser at the sink (such as a GE undercounter unit), the refrigerator filter would be functional for a few years. The undercounter units have a quite large capacity and some use two filter cartridges.
